Trigeminal Nerve Block
What is it?
This nerve block is a therapeutic pain block that involves injecting a local anesthetic into the Trigeminal nerve, which carries sensation from the face to the brain. This helps prevent pain arising due to herpes zoster infection and Trigeminal Neuralgia.
How long does the trigeminal nerve block take?
The procedure only takes about 20 minutes, but please expect to be at the facility for about 45 minutes. You are allowed to go home after a brief observation post-procedure, but we recommend having someone drive you.
