Neuropathic Pain

What is it?

Often described as a shooting or burning type of pain, Neuropathic Pain can resolve spontaneously but can also become chronic (long-standing). Its mechanism is not fully understood and although it has been related to nerve damage, or a malfunctioning nervous system, its symptoms vary patient to patient.

What are some symptoms?

For some patients, this pain can be severe and disabling, even though it may not be constant, and it may come and go with time. It can manifest as tingling or burning sensation, and in some cases, a sharp shooting pain.
