Migraine Headaches

What is it?
Migraine headaches are a type of headache that usually involve nausea, sensitivity to light, and intractable pain that causes patients to miss school or work.
What causes it?
Migraines have a number of causes and most of the time the cause of a patient’s headaches may never be identified.
How can it be treated?
Treatment of migraine headaches begins conservatively with lifestyle modification and medication management. If the migraines persist despite conservative management, a patient may then be a candidate for interventional procedures like Botox injections or occipital nerve blocks.
