What is it?

A ketamine infusion is when a patient has an IV started and has ketamine infused into their blood stream for 30-60 minutes.

How does it work?

Ketamine is an anesthetic agent that decreases pain, especially neuropathic pain, in the body.

What conditions does it treat?

Ketamine infusions may be used for any type of chronic pain, but are particularly useful for neuropathic pain states such as polyneuropathy or complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
