Platelet Rich Plasma

This treatment has been used by the likes of Tiger Woods and Rafael Nadal and has received a lot of attention recently. This treatment is used for chronic tendon, acute ligament, and muscle injuries as well as knee arthritis and fractures. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) contains healing growth components from your own blood that may increase your body’s natural ability to repair itself. The PRP is created by extracting the patient’s blood and centrifuging it (spinning it at high speeds) to separate the plasma and concentrate the blood platelets. This is injected back in the site of pain and may help improve healing or reduce inflammation.
